Vipers win goaltenders duel at Kal Tire Place

Two goals in the third period ended a scoreless battle and lifted the Vernon Vipers to a 2-0 win over the West Kelowna Warriors Friday night at Kal Tire Place.

Tyler Carpendale on a powerplay at 7:48 and JoJo Tanaka Campbell into an empty net with nine seconds left handled the Vernon scoring.

James Porter Jr. stopped 22 shots for the shutout, improving the Vipers pod season record to 7-3-1-1.

Warriors goalie Johnny Derrick made 33 saves in taking the loss.
