On Thursday, April 1, 2021 Debbie Ann Morrison, loving wife, dedicated Mom to many,
Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Great Aunt passed away after a
courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born to her parents Hubert and Barbara
Scarrow in Kelowna, BC and was raised in Winfield, BC. She grew up on the farm and
attended Winfield Elementary and George Elliot Secondary School. In 1971, Debbie
moved to Nelson, BC to further her education at Notre Dame College. It was there that
she met her soul mate Alan. The two were married the following year on October 7,1972
and an adventure began. Debbie and Alan became parents in 1974 and continued on to
have three biological children and two adopted. They moved out to Alberta permanently
in 1976 for the soul purpose of employment. Debbie kept herself busy and active as a
parent as well as involved herself in numerous different jobs throughout the years until
she found her calling as a foster parent. She was actively involved in a few voluntary
roles for community clubs throughout the years such as the Rochester Willing Workers
& Rochester Community, Family Support Society. As time progressed, Debbie and Alan
ventured into providing support for children in a group care setting and later created a
successful drive and support service program for families in need.
Debbie has left a lasting impression with many. Her ability to make all feel welcomed
and comfortable is a trait many share about her. She had such a giving nature and
could always find the positives and always seemed to be able to make things better.
Debbie was compassionate and dedicated and family driven. She loved to travel and
often invited others to join on these excursions. Debbie was very sociable and her kind,
giving and gentle spirit made her a friend to all.
Debbie leaves behind her husband (Alan) of nearly fifty years, Daughter Victoria
Dzivinski (Allan) and their four children (Liam, Owen, Evan & Mya), Son Daniel Asema
(Elizabeth), Daughter Barbara Ellis (Ed) and their three children (Skye, Alyssa &
William) as well as Great Granddaughters (Olivia & Echo), Son James (Gwenyth) and
their two children (Gavin & Patience), Son Jason (Joy) and their two daughters (Julia &
