A new addition to Vernon’s BMX Ranger Park is expected to get a lot of use.

A bike repair station has been provided to the facility on 47th Avenue by Sun Country Cycle in a partnership with the City of Vernon.

“It is now installed and ready for riders/public to use at Ranger Park, and hopefully this 2021 BMX season. It is a very welcomed addition,” Lisa Fogel with the BMX Club told Vernon Matters.

The station comes complete with a set of tools, securely fastened. The tools are organized with cables to prevent tangling. It also has a bike pump, and is designed to handle all types of bicycles.

“An awesome addition to Ranger Park, the club and community,” Fogel remarked. “A very helpful amenity that all cyclists who visit the track will appreciate for years to come.”

The club is thanking Sun Country Cycle for its support, and the city for its ongoing relationship.

The BMX club’s activities are currently on hold, waiting for provincial restrictions to be lifted and return-to-sport guidelines to be posted.
