Damond John Murray Chardon
“Every once in a while a child is born who’s soul shines so bright that they light the world for the rest of us”
Damond. Son. Brother. Grandson. Friend. Passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 17th at Vernon Jubilee Hospital after a long battle with leukemia at the young age of 23.
Damond is survived by an amazing and loving family. Brad Chardon (Father), Virginia Meunier
(Mother), Alysha Meunier (Sister), Kevin Storms (Brother), Quenton Winfrey (Brother), Odile Mcintosh (Grandmother), Theresa Taylor (Grandmother) also more family & friends than one can count who were very much like family. He was predeceased by his Grandfathers Alfred Chardon, Robert Meunier & Donald McIntosh.
Damond was born on November 26th, 1997 in Kelowna BC. Growing up in Lumby BC where he was known by most and loved by many. He attended JW Inglis and graduated from C.B.S.S. Teachers and community members speak fondly of Damond. Known for being kind, polite, caring and as well-spoken young man. For those of you who are reading this and may not have known him well, you will likely see how truly remarkable of a human he was who touched so many lives.
People who knew Damond describe him as one of the strongest people they known! Someone that hoped to make this world a better place. Helping others even when he was at his worst, he would always put a
smile on your face. Doing the right thing even when it was the hardest. Speaking up and standing up for what was right. He taught us how to live, love, and laugh. But most importantly he showed us how to challenge ourselves and take on what is hard.
Comparable to a modern-day Socrates he walked on a moral high ground with a high degree of insight, integrity, and yearning for self-mastery. Many who know him know that he loved to have a good debate. He could share his thoughts and opinions and listen to others open mindedly even if he did not agree with them.
Damond loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved animals, the outdoors and camping with friends in the summer. We all also know how much he loved cars and loud music!
Damond’s talents and interests were vast. He was known for being an incredibly talented songwriter, rapper, and musician. The sky was absolutely the limit for Damond, now there is no limit. His family and friends know he is flying high and rocking heaven like nobody’s business with his sickest threads and the wickedest beats. Collaborating with all the great rappers, philosophers, and intelligent minds of the past. When we meet again Damond we know you will have the best beats and rhymes to share with us. Sing hard, sing loud and sing proud so we can hear you down here too. Shake heaven up, get that party started for when we get there!
Forever loved! Forever remembered! We will celebrate you always!
