Ogopogo author back for more
The author of a children’s book about the fabled lake monster Ogopogo is taking another dive into the depths with a new book, and is seeking copyright usage from the City of Vernon.
The City of Vernon was assigned the “Ogopogo” copyright by Gil Seabrook in July, 1956. Seabrook applied for the “Ogopogo” copyright in 1952.
The request from Don Levers is for use of the name “Ogopogo” by himself and Okanagan Publishing House. Levers’s self-published a children’s book, “Ogopogo The Misunderstood Lake Monster’ in 1985.
Levers reports this book has sold over 25,000 copies through numerous reprints over 35 years.
