September 21, 1948 – February 17, 2021
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Keith, age 72, on February 17, 2021. He passed away peacefully at his home in Vernon, BC surrounded by love. He fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Keith was born in Comox on September 21st, 1948 to Margaret and Eddie Apps. He was raised in Burnaby, where as a teen he spent time working on the tugs. He was an electrician by trade but really, he was capable of building and fixing just about anything. He lived in Richmond for over twenty years before settling in Vernon with his wife of almost 25 years, Josi.
Loving father to Greg (Christine), Carrie (Jeff), Ward (Kayla), Amber (Adam). Grandpa to Jacob, Jaiden, Megan, Gregory, Violet, Lucy, and Dora. Keith is also survived by his brother Mike (Karen) Apps and a huge extended family and countless friends.
He will be remembered as a kind, quiet, and determined man who enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, card games, and music. He played both the guitar and the piano. He also loved to watch the cooking channel and try out new recipes; people still rave about his Chinese food. He loved to travel, some of his fondest memories are of their times spent in Thailand and Beijing. He took countless motorcycle trips and most recently, an almost year long trip in their holiday trailer through Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Keith also spent many good times sailing on the ocean.
“Just a dream and the wind to carry me and soon I will be free.”
We are all so grateful for the incredible support we received from family, friends, and the entire health care team. At Keith’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, we welcome any stories or happy memories of Keith.
