Rare $75K whiskey lot offered by liquor stores

Whisky collectors with deep pockets will be able to enter a draw starting on Friday for a chance to buy what B.C.Liquor Stores terms ‘an exceptionally rare bottle.’

The corporation says it has acquired one of 25 bottles of Bowmore 31-year-old D-B-5 1964 whisky.

It’s presented in a decanter made with a genuine Aston Martin D-B-5 piston in a nod to James Bond’s car of choice and costs a penny under $75,000.

Okanagan residents won’t have a chance at the rare offering unless they are at the coast or have a friend enter for them.

The liquor corporation says customers can enter a draw at its Cambie Street location in Vancouver from Friday Feb. 5 through Sunday Feb. 7 for a chance to buy the collector’s item.
