Evan Clark Marshall
It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden, unexpected death of our son, Evan Clark Marshall. Evan was born in Vernon, BC on May 24, 1986 and passed away quietly in Vancouver, BC on October 26, 2020. He was 34 years old.
The greatest tragedy of Evan’s short life was the death of his beloved mother Gayle when he was only 7 years old. The pain he felt could never be healed. We hope and pray he has now found peace and is reunited with his mother in heaven.
Evan will be remembered as being well educated, well-travelled, and was a gifted writer and speaker, and had a degree in “malarkey.” Although estranged from the family for many years, he was thought of often and was loved. He will be missed.
His ashes will be scattered over his mother’s grave in Falkland, BC and with his namesake, Great Grandpa Clark at Mount Marshall in Burton, BC.
Evan is survived by his immediate family; Father and Stepmom, Murray and Maureen Marshall, Uncle Steven, Aunt Karin Marshall, cousins Tanner, McKenna (Shae) Madison, Aunt Tina, Uncle Dale, cousin Scott Siver, all in Australia, Grandparents Tim and Gloria Smith, Grandparents Lorne and Janice Marshall, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Special thanks to Grampa Lorne, who always answered Evan’s midnight calls, stood by him and tried to help him no matter what jackpot the kid was in – and there were many. It was never a good news call from Evan. Also to his special “Auntie” Lori Bell, who also answered many a distress call. She encouraged Evan along the way and kept in contact with him and told him he was loved.
We also wish to acknowledge the assistance of Kristin at the BC Coroner’s office and a sincere thank you to Emily Brown at Vernon Funeral Home. Her compassion, kindness and genuine caring have helped the family immensely through this difficult time. There will be no services, and flowers are declined. Condolences may be left at www.vernonfuneralhome.com RIP my son.
