Police warn sex workers to stay away from property
Police have issued a warning to people involved in the sex trade not to respond to requests for their services, or to engage in any activity, in the Salmon River Road area west of Enderby.
Mounties say 39-year-old Curtis Wayne Sagmoen, who resides in that area, is under court-imposed conditions he must not have any contact in any way with any sex trade worker, escort, or person offering paid dating or companion services.
“He is bound by a court-imposed probation order, a condition of which specifies: ‘You must not have any contact in any way with any sex trade worker, escort, or person offering paid dating or companion services,’” said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer for the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP.
Police say in the interest of safety, they have issued a photo of Sagmoen who has a criminal history of violence against sex trade workers including running into a woman with an all-terrain vehicle on his family’s property in 2017.
