Anastasia Bariesheff was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday October 10, 2020. She passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family.
Anastasia was born on January 1, 1928 in Semirechie, Russia She was predeceased by her loving husband Vasily, her parents Anton & Maria Sultanoff, her twin children Nick & Vera, and her 2 granddaughters, Sonya Bariesheff and Liz (Bataligan) Oreshkin. Anastasia is survived by her 10 children Rae (Alex), Kon (Gail), Wally (Nately), Lydia (Nick), Ava, Victor (Linda), Russell (Bes), Paul (Sandy), Alex (Miriam) & Tammy; plus 34 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
Anastasia and Vasily were married in 1943 and lived together for 45 years. They lived in Russia, China, Australia and moved to Vernon B.C. Canada in 1975. After moving to Canada, Anastasia was involved with her husband in their ministry as missionaries to South America. She travelled often with him to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay. They would distribute clothes and food to the poor as well as sharing the love of God They continued this work together until the Lord called her husband home in 1988, at which time Anastasia became a widow at the age of 60.
Anastasia went on to continue her love for helping people by volunteering at the Salvation Army thrift store, Upper Room Mission and supporting orphans and people overseas and within her own community. When she was not able to continue that work any longer, she turned her passion to praying and encouraging each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each one individually received a special prayer and blessing from her.
Anastasia will always be loved and remembered by all who knew her and the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of her love for her God, family, friends, laughter and hard work.
Mom, till we meet again at Jesus’ feet.
