ReTHINK Waste grant program webinar

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) is looking for great ideas on how to divert more waste from the regional diversion and disposal facility, and they have money to advance those ideas.

RDNO will host a webinar, Wednesday, October 7, at 2:00 p.m. about their ReTHINK Waste grant program.

The information session will give viewers a clear idea of the types of waste reduction programs that are eligible for grant funding and share some case studies of innovative projects. $50,000 is available in grant funding for the 2021 intake.

The funding is intended to act as seed money to kickstart new projects that keep materials out of the landfill. Applicants can look to existing programs in other regions and apply them to the North Okanagan.

Some examples from other areas include starting a repair café, a tool library, or a service to repurpose fabric into reusable bags. Creativity is encouraged.
