Aline Thomsley Staires (aka Gwendolyn Louise Clapperton) will always be remembered by her vibrant, feisty, colorful, personality. She had a sharp wit, a wonderful smile, and a glint in her eye, you never quite knew what might be coming next! A beauty herself, a talented artist, a seamstress, an actress in her early days, AND one who sang like an angel, made her a born performer.
Aline married “the most handsome man she’d ever seen” in 1944 and had three sons, PERRY (Pip) (grandson Ben), Caine, and Scot. She resided over 4 decades on her property at her beloved Cluculz Lake, along with the many dogs and cats that shared her paradise. Living on the lake, proved her very independent and capable of the many chores required with rural life and she loved every second of it. However, in 2015 she decided to sell her property and move to the Okanagan to live out the remainder of her years. Her son Caine, will take her ‘home’ to Cluculz Lake where she can now rest peacefully with all the memories she created there. She will be missed by us all.
