It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bruce Hughie James Stinson, on May 15th, 2020, in his 87th year.
Bruce is survived by his wife Dolores, of 63 years, and children Cindy (Johnny), Kelly (Shawna), Heather (Robert), James (Charmaine).
His great loves, his Grandchildren, Sheryl, Bruce (Jen), Trevor, Ashely, Kelly and Kyler, Jess (Stacey), Olaf, Dayna (Kris), Kaitlyn (Cody), Faye, Amanda (Sean), Colin (Latalia), and his 12 Great Grand Children.
His brother Roy, sister June and numerous nieces and nephews, and countless lifelong friends.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents George and Irene, brother Ernest and sister Ruby, and grandson Myles.
Bruce started his life in the lower mainland of BC, and worked on the farms, and fishing, then on to construction. When work slowed down, he moved his young family to the Okanagan, in the early 60s and found what would become his career Logging 30+ years.
Bruce loved music, and would often be found playing his harmonica with friends and family.
On retirement, Bruce became a snowbird, and would spend his winters in Warmer climates, enjoying dances, and gatherings and sharing his stories and jokes!
In the summer months, his favourite place to be was Westham Island Herb Farm in Ladner. There he would spend his days, helping where he could, and just enjoying the farm, and his friends.
Bruce you will be sadly miss.
We will miss your laughter, and the twinkle in your eye.
There will be no service at this time.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to Vernon Hospice Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
