October 22, 1938 – March 14, 2020
It’s great sadness to announce the death of Arvid Merle Hoglund on March 14, 2020 after a long, courageous battle with lung disease. Arvid was surrounded during his passing with his wife Audrey, brother Andy, daughters Brenda, Charlene, Patty, and Theressa, and granddaughters Aleisha and Kelsey.
Arvid was born on October 22 1938 in Creston B.C. He was raised in Creston and later moved to Vernon with his parents Andrew and Catharina, and his brother Andy.
On April 18, 1958 Arvid married the love of his life, Audrey, and had four daughters.
He worked as a logging truck driver for Chapmans, Mac Gillis Gibbs, and Gorman Bros and received an award from Mac Canada Club for 1 million miles accident free.
After retiring from logging, he purchased a fishing resort with Audrey in the spring of 1986.
He spent many years running the resort meeting people, making lifelong friendships, and sitting by the campfires telling his RV adventures and hunting.
He loved his dog Sarge, his loyal friend and faithful companion who he missed dearly.
Arvid enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling with Audrey and his daughters. He lived his life to the fullest.
Arvid is survived by his loving wife Audrey, daughters Brenda, Charlene (Gary), Patty (Clem), and Theressa (Neil); his brother Andy; sisters-in-law Simone, Marilyn (George), and Lynn (John). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
