It is with the deepest sadness that we share the passing of our Dad. Jeffry John Morrison 1957-2020 Jeff was born in Burnaby to his parents Jack and Myrna and grew up in Williams Lake with his sisters Teresa and MaryAnne. With an early aptitude for mechanics, an unwavering work ethic and a willingness to get dirty he began a long career in various mechanical trades including being a journeyman pressman, and commercial driver. He was a genius with a wrench and oil can, never met an engine he couldn’t fix, tune up or completely rebuild. Jeff stayed around Williams Lake after high school raising a little hell with good friends from Columneetza, Chimney Lake and the Tribune. Spent his weekends playing ball or jamming with his buddies and his Dad, they sure threw a good blues bash… In ‘84 he and Kim had their first daughter Rikki Lee and in ‘87 Randi Lynn was born. Jeff was a natural father and genuinely loved raising his girls. Dad mastered the art of a little girl’s ponytail with gentleness and patience, and never let us forget to “brush your fang”. He made sure we knew how to bait a hook, change a flat tire, and load 35 mm film into a camera. Dad always read us bedtime stories with a twang in his voice and tuck tuck tickled us snugly in to bed. Jeff spent several years working in the Printing industry in Edmonton which is where he met Deb. They were married in Calgary, where Jeff and his girls were welcomed warmly into Deb’s family. Kari and John have been great friends, enjoying many family events and sharing in the raising of their kids Allie, Meagan and Mark who is Jeff’s godson, an honour he was most proud to fulfill. Jeff, Deb, Rikki and Randi made the move back to B.C. in 2005, they settled in Armstrong where they made so many great memories full of backyard fires, shop parties, dogs playing, tunes on the stereo and always some engine half taken apart on its way to repair. Jeff’s grandchildren Molly, Asher, Hudson, and Georgia knew this as his home and loved to spend time there tinkering with Papa’s tools in the shop which was also the best place to have a good talk, as Dad loved to hear what the kids around him had to say. He also made time to get know his Daughters’ partners and came to love Daniel and Dylan, developing unique and meaningful relationships with each of them. He collected quotes he found insightful and displayed them in his shop which lead to many a philosophical conversation. At his core Jeff was a poet, a deep thinker and a comedian. Always yucking it up and pulling pranks with the many friends that would come by the house for a beer and a visit. The IPE was another much loved family tradition, we all came together to enjoy the fair and annual parade he drove in with Molly in his Mercedes. Jeff was a mentor with “Big Brothers” as a young man and brought his nephews, starting with Todd, nieces and even later his grandchildren camping, fishing and out in the boat or 4×4 ing which fostered a love for the outdoors and adventure. His adventures were many, whether it was work on the road, holidays in Mexico and Hawaii or taking us to Disneyland. He encouraged us to travel and try new things. He was a peaceful person and had a way of allowing friends, strangers, small children and animals to be at ease with him. He showed us how to enjoy life and Love each other. He will be missed by so many people who’s lives he touched. We will Love him forever. An open house celebration of his life will be held at : the Kin Clubhouse 3311 Park Drive Armstrong B.C.
