UPDATE: First baby of 2020 in the Okanagan

Vernon Matters wants to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

And with the new year comes the first baby of the new year…and the new decade.

The first baby born at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in 2020 was a boy at 8:53 a.m. Wednesday, weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces to a couple from Lake Country, their first child.

The parents are Cory and Amy Silzer, and they have named their son Tanner James Silzer.
