It is with great sadness that the family of Darren Stymiest announces his sudden and unexpected passing on November 26, 2019 in Vernon, British Columbia. Darren was born on March 25, 1970 in Saint John, New Brunswick to Bev and Lorna (McKinney, Barrieau) Stymiest. He is survived by his children, Raiden and Taylor Stymiest; their mother, Tiffany Karens; step children, Kiauna and Maliaka; the love of his life, Judy Thomas; his mother-in-law, Linda (mama bear); his mother, Lorna (Barrieau); sister, Dena (Peter) Graham; brother, Mark (Robyn) Stymiest; his maternal grandmother, Florence Stymiest; nieces and nephews: Nikko, TJ, Coleman and Makayla; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Saint John and Vernon. Darren was predeceased by his father, Bev; grandfather, Jim Stymiest; grandmother, Georgina McKinney and grandfather, Joseph. Darren was a huge Montreal Canadians fan and loved dirt biking. He was always adventurous from a young age. Darren had a great love for animals. As a young boy he would always bring home wounded animals and nurse them back to health. He was never without a pet and always had a dog by his side. He enjoyed visits to the lake with his dog, Rein. Above all, Darren loved his children. He spent the vast majority of his spare time enjoying family time and activities with his children and Judy.
At Darren’s request there will be no visitation. A private family gathering will held in both Vernon and Saint John to celebrate Darren’s life.
Arrangements entrusted to Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.pleasantvalleyfh.com
