John passed away peacefully with family by his side, after a short stay at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
John is survived by his daughters Barb and Lana, his son Troy (Karen), grandchildren Carrie, Chad, Sierra (Mike), Joel (Shaina), Quinten and Dane. John was predeceased by his wife Terry and his parents Basil and Jean Issigonis.
Born in London, England, John also lived in Long Beach California, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Oak Bay, Ontario, Vernon, Lac La Hache and Williams Lake, where he owned shoe stores, Barbara Jean’s and Jaycee’s Bootery. Once he retired, he became an avid golfer and he and Terry enjoyed many great years wintering in Yuma, Arizona. We were lucky to have John in our lives as long as we did, he was a good man who was well liked, trusted and respected by everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday March 21, 2020 (his 90th birthday) at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
