A new building will be added to the former Dairyland site on Pleasant Valley Road in Armstrong.

It’s now owned by the nut and dried fruit company Rancho Vignola ,which has approval to add a 24-thousand square-foot storage warehouse.

The location is listed as 3025 and 3155 Pleasant Valley Road with the company approved for an official community plan bylaw amendment, and a zoning amendment.

Mayor Chris Pieper says it will be built on a current parking lot, which will allow for realignment of the property lines to allow for housing on the top of the property across from Armstrong Elementary.

“And then they’ll continue the industrial work where the actual building is being built,” Pieper told Vernon Matters.

In addition to Rancho Vignola’s operations, Pieper said that site also has Country West Supply, an agricultural business that sells feed and farming supplies.

The mayor says there was no opposition to the application.

“It’s a good use. They’ll be hiring more people, and it’s an expansion of a current business in Armstrong.”
