Groups can apply for city grants

Non-profit and other community groups have until Oct. 31 to apply for discretionary grants to the City of Vernon.

The grants are given out at the discretion of city council and go to groups that preserve and enhance the positive quality of life for all residents.

“One means of achieving this goal is through the provision of grants to organizations that contribute to the general interest and advantage of the city,” said a city news release.
