New card aimed at attracting new library users

The Okanagan Regional Library board has given the green light to a pilot project.

It will test a new type of library card where patrons will be able to register online and receive access to electronic resources, holds and a limited number of other services.

The card holder will have six months to convert to a full membership.

The ORL board has also had its first look at the draft budget for the coming year.

The proposed average per capita increase would be 18 cents.
