Tolko reductions at Armstrong mill
Tolko Industries has announced reductions to its operations in Armstrong and Williams Lake.
The Vernon-based company is implementing a flexible operating footprint at its Soda Creek and Armstrong stud lumber mills starting next week.
The change will reduce the company’s operating stud capacity by 20 per cent, meaning the mills will go down to a four-day work week, but there are no layoffs.
Vice President, Solid Wood, Troy Connolly said the decision is a result of high log costs in B.C. and weak market conditions.
