Ab Moshansky
April 30, 1926 – August 15, 2019
Ab passed away after days of being surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born and raised in Waskatenau, Alberta. As a young man during the Great Depression, he hitched a ride atop a coal train to BC and, a few years later, enlisted in the army. After his military service, he designed auto-carriers and travelled across North America for work and pleasure. Ab’s genuine smile, mischievous nature, and love of adventure (he experienced skydiving at the age of 85) endeared him to many. Ab had a passion for designing and fabricating everything from beer can aircraft to jeeps of all sizes, and he had a passion for flying: over fifty years, he and his wife and navigator, Hazel, crisscrossed the continent in their Cessna, “Blue Bird.” Alongside Hazel, he raised a family of four. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; his brother, Earl; and his daughter, Brenda (Allen). He is survived by his son, Grant (Kim); his daughters, Kit and Tracy (Rick); his grandchildren, his wonderful partner, Dorrie Vinthers; her loving family; and countless friends.
