Police raid suspected drug house

Aug 23, 2019 | 5:30 AM

Police in Vernon have busted a suspected drug house in the 2800 block of 35th Street.

Eleven people were found inside the home at the time a search warrant was executed by police Wednesday, some who tried to flee but were apprehended by the police dog service.

A search of the residence turned up heroin and crystal meth, along with stolen property, cash and drug paraphernalia, as police continue to investigate.

“The persons associated to the residence are known to police and the investigation continues as police identify owners of the property recovered. Police are working with the City of Vernon By-law unit as well as the property owner to reduce further calls associated to this property,” said Cpl. Tania Finn.

“Our police officers recognize the impact these types of residences have in a community. When we noticed the suspect activity at this property continued after the first search warrant in July, police resources were allocated to conduct an additional follow up investigation,” added Finn.
