Driver ticketed over serious crash
A child remains in Children’s Hospital in Vancouver following a serious head-on crash on the Trans-Canada Highway at Second Nations Road in Salmon Arm last Friday evening.
RCMP said emergency responders were called to the scene on Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. after a Volkswagen car crossed the centre line of the highway, hitting a trailer before plowing head-on into a westbound Honda vehicle.
Six people from both vehicles were transported to hospital, including three airlifted to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops and the child to the children’s hospital in Vancouver.
A spokesperson for Royal Inland Hospital said all the airlifted patients are now in stable condition.
