Rockets reassign two players after preseason

The Kelowna Rockets have made a pair of roster moves following the end of their preseason.

The Rockets announced Sunday that 18-year-old defenceman Braeden Payne has been reassigned to the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Payne, a North Vancouver product, joined Kelowna as a free-agent invite at training camp and played four preseason games. The six-foot-one, 185-pound defenceman was later added to the Rockets’ protected list.

The team has also reassigned 16-year-old forward Joel Ngandu, who appeared in three preseason games.
