VICTORIA — Police in Delta, B.C., say a 31-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a semi-truck on a major bridge in Metro Vancouver.

A statement from Delta Police says the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on the Alex Fraser Bridge on Saturday night.

Police say in their statement that they responded at around 10 p.m.

They say their ongoing investigation into the incident has not ruled out alcohol and speed as contributing factors.

The statement says that anyone with information, including dash cam footage around the area between 9:45 p.m.. and 10:15 p.m., is asked to contact police.

Police say the incident temporarily closed northbound lanes on the bridge, but normal traffic has since resumed.
