Four vehicles damaged in suspected Coldstream arson

Mar 31, 2026 | 2:23 PM

Police are investigating a suspected arson in Coldstream Tuesday morning.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said officers were on patrol in the 11000-block of Kalamalka Lake Road at around 3:30 a.m. when they came across an SUV on fire.

Police used extinguishers from their vehicle to knock down the flames, and Coldstream Fire Department crews were called in to the scene and successfully extinguished the rest of the blaze.

Once the fire was out police surveyed the scene and found a total of four vehicles had been vandalized, including two that had sustained fire damage.

“The cause of the fire has not been determined; however, evidence at the scene indicates it was intentionally set,” Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said.

“We’re asking residents in the area who have cameras to check their video between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. this morning.  If you find anything suspicious, please give us a call.”

Anyone with information that can help further this investigation was asked to contact the RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file #2026-5022.
