Decision in Vernon murder trial to come down in June

Mar 27, 2026 | 6:01 AM

The decision in a Vernon murder case will be coming down in the late-spring.

Closing submissions wrapped up Wednesday, March 25, in the trial of Peter Visintainer.

Visintainer was facing a charge of first degree murder in the death of Wolf Ingo Beyer, who’s body was found in the Six Mile Creek area in May of 2022.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said Visintainer would be back in Vernon court June 1 to hear the justice’s decision.

The trial in this case started in August of 2025, but faced a number of delays including one this past February where the defence sought a third party  psychiatric report to determine if the accused was not criminally responsible for his actions due to a mental disorder.
