The Kelowna Rockets are set to open the WHL playoffs against a familiar rival, the Kamloops Blazers.
The team announced its first round schedule Monday, with Games 1 and 2 set for Prospera Place on March 27 and 28 before the series shifts to Kamloops.
The matchup adds another chapter to a long running playoff rivalry between the two BC Division teams. The Rockets have had the edge in recent meetings, winning series in 2017, 2016, 2009 and 2002, while Kamloops last knocked out Kelowna in 2013.
The teams were also set to meet in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
