Volunteers sought for sncəcmatqtn Agriculture Park initiative in Vernon

Vernon residents are being invited to help support the future of the sncəcmatqtn Agriculture Park by joining a new volunteer committee.
The Friends of sncəcmatqtn Agriculture Park is recruiting community members interested in promoting agriculture, Indigenous heritage, wildlife habitat and education at the site. The group aims to improve public access to the park while supporting food security, ecological restoration and regenerative farming.
The volunteer committee will be sponsored by the BX Swan Lake Community Association. Richard Stranks says the long-term vision is to create a resilient landscape that supports people, plants and wildlife while strengthening connections to the land.
An information meeting for prospective volunteers will be held March 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the main meeting room at the Vernon Public Library.
