A nation-wide warrant has been issued in relation to a 2024 murder in Surrey, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said Navdeep Kaur was reported missing to police in February of 2024. Investigators collected evidence that led them to believe Kaur was a victim of a homicide, and the case was turned over to IHIT.

In July of 2024, police located human remains which were later confirmed to be a match to the missing woman.

The evidence was compiled and submitted to the B.C. Prosecution Service, leading to a charge of second-degree murder being laid against 24-year-old Amarbir Singh, who was in a relationship with Kaur at the time of her disappearance.

The charge against Singh was issued on March 6, 2026, but police were unable to locate the suspect, so a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

“We are aware that Mr. Singh may have fled the country, but that will not stop us from pursuing him,” Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT stated.

“We will continue to actively track him down and we are fully prepared to work with our law enforcement counterparts overseas to bring him before the Court.”

Anyone with information about Singh’s whereabouts were urged to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by emailing ihitinfor@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
