An Armstrong man will have a cozy retirement after a big lottery win.
The man that the B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC) identified only as John S. matched all four Extra numbers in a Lotto 6/49 draw, winning himself $500,000.
John told BCLC he was “in disbelief” after checking his ticket at a self-scanner and initially thinking the machine was broken. After confirming the win he took the winning ticket home to his wife, and that at first she thought “I was pulling her leg.”
John plans to use his winnings to make his retirement dreams come true, though initially will use some to pay off his mortgage and will gift some of his new cash to his children.
