The city will host its Infrastructure Open House March 2.
“The City of Vernon is investing over $25 million into infrastructure projects this year, continuing to pave the way for a sustainable and vibrant future for the community,” the city stated in a release. “From major road upgrades and safer active transportation routes to new playgrounds, recreation facility improvements, and enhanced memorial spaces, Vernon’s 2026 infrastructure program is focused on building a stronger, more connected community.”
Those projects include the 43rd Ave. corridor improvement, the Kalamalka Lake Road reconstruction and multi-use pathway, park renewals, ice rink upgrades at Kal Tire Place, and a new columbarium being developed for the cemetery.
