WorkBC’s Armstrong Outreach office operating on new schedule

WorkBC North Okanagan has changed its hours of service for the Armstrong Outreach office.

Effective Feb. 24, the office that provides employment services is now open every Tuesday and Thursday, on an appointment-only basis. 

The services offered through the office include career coaching and job search support; funding opportunities for training and skills development; support for disabled people and other specialized populations, and resource for local employers looking to fill job vacancies.

Additionally, WorkBC said Tara Larson, a career advisor, has also taken over as the lead of the Armstrong office.

The agency said Larson, who is from Armstrong, possesses the local knowledge and community ties necessary for help people find work and navigate the needs of the North Okanagan labour market.

“Having a local career advisor who understands the needs of the Armstrong community is wonderful for our WorkBC clients,” Carmen Phillips, Manager of WorkBC’s Case Managed Services, said.

“Tara’s roots in Armstrong allow her to provide personalized, insightful guidance that truly resonates with the people we serve.”
