Royal LePage Place evacuated

There was an emergency response to West Kelowna’s Royal LePage Place Friday afternoon.

RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious item at the Jim Lind Arena.

Police said, as a precaution, Royal LePage Place was temporarily evacuated while they assessed the situation.

Officers conducted a thorough check and determined there was no risk to public safety. Police did no offer any further details.

The arena and immediate area reopened mid-afternoon.
