Call for Volunteers

Vernon Winter Carnival calls for more volunteers to sign up

Jan 22, 2026 | 9:38 AM

A call has been put out to have more people donate their time for the annual winter celebration.

Vernon Winter Carnival said hundreds of volunteers are needed to ensure the dozens of events that take place during the celebrations go ahead as planned, and asked that anyone interested in “bringing joy, energy, and connection to the entire community” sign up as a volunteer.

“Our volunteers give so much more than just their time,” Carnival Volunteer Coordinator, Sandi Dixon, said.

“They bring enthusiasm, creativity, and heart to every event. Whether it’s your first year or your fifteenth, volunteering at Winter Carnival is a rewarding experience and a great way to connect with the community.”

Volunteerism is also reflected in the 2026 Winter Carnival Theme, Team Carnival: Canada Goes For Gold!, which celebrates teamwork, community spirit, and shared Canadian pride.

“Volunteers are the backbone of the Vernon Winter Carnival,” Board Chair, Vicki Proux, said.

“Their passion, commitment, and generosity of time allow us to deliver a festival that brings people together year after year. We truly couldn’t do this without them.”

People wishing to volunteer for the Vernon Winter Carnival can sign up online.
