West Kelowna fire contained before home damage

A fire in the Smith Creek neighbourhood early Sunday morning threatened a home but was contained before it could cause damage, officials say.
Crews from West Kelowna Fire Rescue were called to the area shortly after 2 a.m. for reports of an explosion and fire.
Firefighters found a pick-up truck and trailer on fire, with flames near a single-family residence, and worked quickly to protect the home.
Four fire engines and 20 crew members brought the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
