Ullmark’s first shutout of the season lifts Senators to 4-0 win over reeling Penguins
OTTAWA — Linus Ullmark’s 24-save outing gave him his first shutout of the season in a 4-0 Ottawa Senators victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.
The Penguins (14-10-9) have now lost seven straight (0-3-4), with their last win coming on Dec. 4.
With just over six minutes remaining in the third and trailing 3-0, Pittsburgh goalie Arturs Silovs left the net, despite Ottawa (16-13-4) having possession, allowing Brady Tkachuk to score an empty-net goal for his second of the game.
Ottawa took a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes with a pair of quick second-period goals.
