Central Okanagan residents urged to note holiday garbage schedule

Residents in the Central Okanagan are being reminded that curbside garbage and recycling schedules will change over the holiday season.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan says there will be no collection on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25, or on New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1. Thursday routes will instead be picked up on Friday, while Friday routes will move to Saturday. Regular collection resumes Monday, Jan. 5.

Yard waste collection continues until Dec. 31, before pausing for the winter months. Pickup of yard waste will restart in March 2026.

Residents who miss a scheduled pickup, or who need to replace damaged or lost carts, are advised to contact Environmental 360 Solutions at 250-868-3211.
