Highway 1 to close for avalanche control through Rogers Pass

Highway 1 will be closed today between Revelstoke and Golden for avalanche control in the Rogers Pass area, according to DriveBC.

Closures are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time and are expected to last until midnight, though times could change depending on conditions.

Eastbound commercial vehicles will be held at Malakwa starting at 10 a.m.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and check DriveBC for updates before traveling through the region.
