Sentence in chiropractor sexual assault case to be handed down in January

A man convicted in a sexual assault trial in Vernon will learn his sentence in January.

Murray Kievit was tried and found guilty of one count of sexual assault this past July stemming from an incident that occurred in December of 2021 when he was a chiropractor in Vernon.

Kievit was also facing a second sexual assault accusation in that trial, though he was found not guilty on that charge.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said Kievit will be due back in Vernon court to learn his sentence on January 14, 2026.
