Search for missing West Kelowna senior ends tragically
The search for a missing West Kelowna senior has ended tragically.
Renee Leclerc, 65, who was reported missing on Nov. 1, was found deceased on Mount Boucherie on Nov. 23.
Search and rescue crews, along with volunteers from across the region, had assisted police in the weeks-long search. Central Okanagan Search and Rescue thanked volunteers from Penticton, Vernon, Kamloops and Nicola Valley for their help in a Facebook post Sunday afternoon.
Police said Leclerc had been last seen at her home near Ponderosa Road and had not been in contact with family or friends for several weeks. At the time she went missing, officers expressed concern for her well-being, noting she may appear disoriented if found.
