Throughout the presentation, MacLeod said there were no indications found by the crime analysis team to indicate any sort of trend of rising crime in Vernon based on the quarter to quarter comparison, and added there was no indication of any criminal activity trends through the year so far.

“[There’s been] no big gross, huge numbers in any of those areas, but it is something we will look at [at the end of the year]. I think I have reported it before,” MacLoed told Vernon City Council.

“When I’m presenting this here, if we’re not on top of some of the crime trends going on in real time that’s kind of where our bread and butter is. I mentioned before about our criminal analysis, we have a comparative statistics report she preps every two weeks with the [operations] manager and it kind of attacks problems as it comes up. As a tool for us to deal with things in real time, these stats, over time, isn’t used as something per say, but possibly it’s something we’ll look at and pay attention to.

“Right now, I’m not aware of any over-the-year, full-quarters, three-quarters trends. There’s nothing glaring that I am aware of.”

The report was accepted by city council for Information at Monday’s meeting.
