The Boil Water Notice issued following the emergency water system repairs has been lifted.

The RDNO rescinded the notice Tuesday, Nov. 25, after sample testing showed the water was safe to consume.

The emergency repairs on the water system that resulted in a water outage for the East Hill and South BX neighbourhoods was completed Friday.

The Regional District of North Okanagan said the work was finished and the system was refilled and re-pressurized Nov. 21, and that the restrictions on water use for essential purposes only was lifted.

However, due to the water service interruption, the RDNO issued a Boil Water Notice for the affected properties and for properties in Coldstream.

People under the notice should bring their tap water to a roiling boil before drinking, using to prepare food or drink, and brushing teeth. The notice will be lifted once sample testing shows the water is safe to consume.

The regional district noted properties affected by the outage may experience air in the pipes, low water pressure, or discoloured water. In these cases people should run their cold taps until the water turns clear, with the RDNO saying it is best to do this using an outdoor tap.
