Big White Ski Resort has been named Business of the Year at the Canadian Tourism Awards, a national honour presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

The award was handed out Thursday night at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Que., where tourism leaders from across the country gathered to recognize achievement in the sector.

Big White owner and CEO Peter Plimmer said the recognition reflects the work of the entire team.

“As a Canadian family-run business, this is an incredible honour,” Plimmer said. “I am humbled by this recognition and proud to accept it on behalf of our entire team.”

Plimmer added that the award belongs to employees at every level.

“This is not achieved by one person,” he said. “Whether someone has worked at Big White for one season or for 40, I am grateful for their dedication and proud to share this award with them.”

Big White Ski Resort, founded in 1963, is a family-owned destination known for its ski-in, ski-out village, reliable snow and extensive winter amenities. The resort spans more than 2,834 acres of skiable terrain and features Canada’s second-largest lift system, including the largest night-skiing area in Western Canada.

The 2025–26 winter season is set to open Nov. 27.
