Old Log House Demolished

Demolition of Coldstream Log House nearly complete

The old log house in Coldstream has nearly been fully knocked down.

A report from the District of Coldstream said the hazardous material abatement work was completed and the exterior of the Coldstream Log House on Kalavista Drive had been removed, leaving only the chimneys and the foundation.

The district was awaiting archeological reports as of the latest update, but once those are provided the remaining structure would be demolished and the site would be seeded. There was no indication in the report as to when that permit would be issued.

Once the site is cleared and grass has grown, the property will be converted into a park.

The district will also improve the habitat and nesting grounds for turtles at that property as part of the landscape planning.
