Kelowna RCMP welcomes two new school resource officers
The Kelowna RCMP has added two new School Resource Officers to its Community Safety Unit to strengthen connections with students, staff and families across local schools.
Const. Ramnit Lally and Const. Ian Lampshire will work within School District 23 to promote safety, provide mentorship and support youth engagement throughout the school year. Each officer will be assigned to specific schools to build familiarity and trust within the community.
School District 23 superintendent Jon Rever says the partnership between the district and the RCMP has been vital to maintaining safety and support in schools. He adds that the officers also play a key role in building meaningful relationships with students.
The SRO program focuses on communication, education and community involvement.
