Oct 23, 2025 | 11:43 AM
The Kelowna Fire Department will hold a community-wide evacuation drill this Saturday in the Wilden and Magic Estates neighbourhoods.
Chief Dwight Seymour will join staff and volunteers from Kelowna FireSmart, Central Okanagan Search and Rescue, Emergency Support Services, and the National Research Council of Canada to share information on emergency preparedness, fire prevention, and protective services.
The exercise will conclude at Prospera Place, 1223 Water Street, from 11 a.m. to noon, where media are invited to attend.
The drill is part of the city’s emergency preparedness plan and is designed to improve coordination among emergency responders and support community evacuation procedures.
