Coldstream supporting UBCM resolutions for combatting human trafficking
The District of Coldstream is supporting resolutions being brought forward from a northern B.C. community.
The district has indicated it will support five resolutions the City of Prince George will bring forward for the annual Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) convention.
- Declaration of human trafficking, gender-based violence & intimate partner violence as an epidemic in B.C. and for an updated B.C.’s Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking
- Finalization of agreements between municipalities and B.C. Ambulance Service including a funding component to compensate local governments providing emergency medical services for related costs
- Adequate funding, offices and staffing of the B.C. Conservation Service
- Increased core provincial funding for Public Libraries
- Construction of a regional secure psychiatric facility in the Prince George area
“We hope we can count on you to support these items when the time comes and have included full text of each resolution with the background below for consideration,” the City of Prince George said in a letter to Coldstream Council.
